#thoughtfulthursday 7: Send kind thoughts

It’s not always possible to be with people when they are having a bad day, but a kind message from you could make all the difference. A nice card, a phone call, even a text to say you are thinking of them can bring some light to someone when life is tough.

“When someone is struggling, knowing there are people out there who care can change everything. It might even save a life.” Jaime Thurston (52 Lives)

When my third child was born I had very severe SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction) which meant I couldn’t walk for about 6 months. It was so easy to feel isolated and alone being stuck at home and very limited in what I could do. It was those phone calls, messages and friends popping in even just for a few minutes that made all the difference to how I was able to cope with the overwhelming feelings of loneliness. It enabled me to stay hopeful that I would walk again.I was very fortunate to be part of a church community were people cared, brought meals and checked to see how I was doing but it has made me so much more aware of the many people in my local community that don’t have that support and how a little kindness can make such a difference.

Perhaps today you are busy with life, but pause just for a minute to send a kind message to someone who might be having a difficult day.
